Apollonia, too, was a trading town, whose basis was formed by the harbor. Because of an earthquake a part of the city was destroyed. Nevertheless there are still some buildings worth seeing there. Different churches form the looks of Appollonia. Next to these you can find a building of magnificence- the palace of the governor. In addition to the thermal springs (which you can actually find in every Roman town *g*) some ancient tombs of rock call for a visit. I was told, that there is the possibility to practice underwater archaeology, because you can dive for the immersed ruins.
